In February, 2008 we birthed a new club this year to reach out to the homeless and inner-city children. They live in the darkness, and surrounded by darkness. Many of the homeless adults are second and third generation homeless, it is a common cycle to continue. God put on my heart to gather the kids monthly on a Saturday, and He lead me to the bible verse in Philippeans 2:15 where He calls us all to "shine like stars in the darkness." He wants us to stand out- to be different, for others can see. February 2, 2008 we had our first meeting, and we had over 40 children show up. we have a special pledge, a club shirt, a Christian message each month which includes lunch, songs, games, and a craft. But most importantly, we hope that we are building friendships, showing love, joy, kindness, goodness, peace, and patience because Christ lives in us and through us. We hope to make an eternal difference in their lives- several made a decision for Christ that first day. We meet on the first Saturday of every month from 12-2 PM and would love for you to join us!
